Three years later, Ch Frakari's Dis Is Fred (Ch. HOT's M O's Barnaby Jones X Ch. Date Tensha's Pot Luck) joined the family. No way could we call him Fred, so he became "Weejun," not after the ducks (widgeon) but after those wonderful shoes I remember from my childhood. He was comfortable as an old shoe, finished easily, and lived to the ripe old age of 12+. Weejun sired few litters, and a few champions, including Riverview's High Roller II )out of Ch. Kristal's Sno Mittens O' You Toos) and, Sajo's One Track Mind, Sajo's No Trump Grand Slam, and Sajo's Need I Say More, all out of Daitan-Ni Diamond's R Forever.

Daitan-Ni Diamonds R Forever wins the Brood Bitch class at the Akita Club of Tampa Bay. Get left to right are Ch. Sajo's Notrump Grand Slam (Dealer), Sajo's One Mo Betta, and Ch. Sajo's One Track Mind (Cricket).

My greatest regret is that Selket went to Daitan-Ni Akitas (Jeanne Galindo Hayes, Winters CA) twice, and never managed to stay in season long enough to be bred to Ch. Hinmaru Daitani Diamond Back. I decided if I couldn't have a Genji X Selket pup, then I'd just have to buy a Genji daughter. It was my incredibly good fortune to be allowed pick from a litter out of Ch Daitanni Alexis Kobi Skylake. I picked Djinni, Daitan-Ni Diamonds R Forever.

That brings you up to yesterday, or to be more accurate, recent history. In the sections that follow, you'll see more of the Sajo dogs of yesterday and today, and maybe get a sense of where we'd like to be tomorrow.
